Abuja University undergraduate student Mary Judith Eze, who was abducted on September 9 in the Tunga Maje neighborhood of Abuja, has been released.
Recall that last Thursday, September 10, unidentified armed men attacked the village of Tungar Maje in the Gwagwalada local government area in the territory of the federal capital, Abuja, and kidnapped dozens of people.
According to residents, the gunmen kidnapped around 12 people and abandoned 7 of the 12 people initially kidnapped after they were engaged in a shootout by police and members of the community’s vigilante group.
According to Sahara Reporters, undergraduates and other victims were released in the wee hours of the day on Tuesday, September 15.
Although the kidnappers demanded N20m as a ransom, it was not clear if this amount had been paid before the release of the undergraduate.
